Te Ika - Inspired to resemble a fish and the flow of the ocean, this contemporary wahaika named Te Ika showcases a brilliant display of character, exquisite detail, and uniqueness. This one of one Taonga is made from Red Onyx and has white pearl Inlay for the eyes. This wahaika will come on a kauri base, which can have up to 3 words engraved.

Wahaika is a close quaters fighting weapon that was used by fierce Māori warriors to incapacitate and disarm their enemies. The small figures carved onto it represent personal protectors for the wearer. These sacred ancent Māori Taonga are symbols of mana (authority), status, cultural identity, and important relationships.
